Br. Shubamrita in Greece 2010
There are no words to describe the bliss and gratitude we felt for the visit of Br. Shubhamrita in Greece. The programs were 2 hour length lectures, devotional songs and meditation, which took place in Athens, Syros and Mykonos on 25 - 26 and 27 of May 2010 and they fulfilled our expectations and beyond. The organization was great and so many people helped by volunteering their time.
Br.Shubamrita gave lectures for the nature of the mind emphasizing the importance of controlling the thoughts and said that the changes we want to see in our relationships with our fellow human beings and in our society has to developed within us first. When we change our inner attitude then the word around us is reflecting this change, the world also change.
Many people attended the program. After that we hope to establish a more steady Greek Amma’s community and also we hope that Br. Shubhamrita will find the time to visit Greece every year and finally we hope we will have the potential to invite Amma to visit Greece in the future.
In an interesting finale of this year’s 3 days program of Shubamrita in Greece the organizer of the program in Mykonos, municipal counselor Mr Yiannis Koukas mentioned:
“Amma is one of the greatest spiritual masters of our times with a vast charitable and environmental work.
Charity and volunteerism expressed as compassion are the 2 major concepts that support the huge organization that has been set around Her.
We consider that in those difficult but at the same time interesting times that our country goes through, the practice of spiritual orientation, of inner quest, the development of volunteerism, of compassion, and of altrouism, are absolutely necessary to stand with courage, with focus, and hard work against this fear state that has covered Greece.’’
Br. Shubhamrita expressed the wish for Greeks to come to Amma’s Europe tour during October – November. Amma will visit around 10 European cities. We can choose 1-2 cities to go as a group. Like that the expenses will be less and it will be an opportunity to get to know each other. Of course you may visit Amma individually as well. It is a unique opportunity to be in one of Amma’s programs in Europe. Personally I know none which went to this programs and he/she did not return with deep inner changes flooded with feelings of peace and bliss. Amma’s programs are held for two or three days in each city she goes.
